The plot begins with the decimation of the town of Torchlight, because of the Alchemist from the primary game, and has the character following the path of obliteration left in the Alchemist’s wake as he looks for a fix to his disease which has made him crazy. Torchlight II happens in a dreamland where the player character can be any of four classes. The three classes from the first Torchlight don’t return as playable characters and are rather introduced in the game world as NPCs. Each class has 3 aptitude trees to browse which empowers customization inside each class. The game features four playable character classes.
